648. Richard Thorne was born in 1753 in New Jersey. He died in New Jersey. He was buried in Marlboro, NJ. He was buried in the Old Brick Church cemetery. Richard Thorne had 2 other children besides Michael, they both died very young. Richard enlisted in the Middlesex militia in Hightown in 1778 & fought in the Battle of Monmouth that July. After the war Richard & his brother Lorain moved to Wrightstown Pennsylvania, where he married Margaret. By 1791 they had returned to the Marlboro area of Monmouth County, where they remained for the rest of their lives.

He was married to Margaret Applegate on 31 Dec 1787 in Wrightstown, PA. Margaret Applegate was born about 1758. Richard Thorne and Margaret Applegate had the following children:
